Rebeat Innovation was developing HD Vinyl, a new process that updates vinyl stamper production to modern technology. The benefits are a faster, easier and more environmentally-friendly stamper production as well as an improved audio quality.
HD Vinyl is a patented technology in development, it is not on the market yet. The goal is to produce high-quality record stampers using a high-precision laser. Main benefits are the elimination of the toxic electro-plating process, a prolonged life span of the stamper and an improved audio fidelity.
Traditional nickle stampers wear down resulting in a decreasing quality. After 1,500 copies a new stamper is needed. HD Vinyl stampers are made out of ceramics which has no wear and can produce up to 10,000 copies.
In the traditional process the stamper is copied multiple times using toxic electro-plating. With each copying audio information is being lost. HD Vinyl records are pressed directly from the original laser cut stamper. It is the best representation of the original recording possible.
In addition HD Vinyl improves the audio quality through the use of the Perfect Groove software. This software transform the audio file into a 3D typography of the groove and allows mastering engineers to push the limits of sound.
HD Vinyl will be backwards compatible and playable with every standard turntable.
